Jute is a plant fibre that has been woven into rugs and sacks for centuries; here it makes a mat with real texture that protects the table and looks good doing it.
A woven mat under each plate gives a table instant warmth, and olive is a quiet colour that works with white, cream and earthy ceramics alike. The thick weave takes a warm plate without marking the wood underneath, and the edges are bound so they will not fray.
Sold in a set of two, so buy two or three sets for a full table; the same mat is also available in natural and in black.
